Formal similarities between unidimensional finite elements used in deformability and diathermacy analysis

Abstract


The paper demonstrates the perfect analogy between the finite element analysis of deformability problems and heat transfer problems. For each case, the main steps of the procedure are followed in order to obtain the finite element equations, which have the same shape. The important conclusion of the study is the possibility of extending such design methods to different engineering problems.
